Mouse infralimbic cortex imaging of nucleus accumbens shell-projecting neurons during social recognition
Longitudinal imaging of IL neurons projecting to the NAc shell, labelled by retrograde Cre in Ai148 GCaMP6f reporter mice, through a GRIN lens-prism assembly during social familiarization and recognition.

Notes
Lens-prism assembly implanted lateral to prefrontal cortex after aspirating 1.5 mm of cortical tissue and cutting a further 1 mm sheath with a custom 1.2 mm laser-cut blade, so the prism faces IL while sparing prelimbic cortex. Virus was injected bilaterally; the imaged side is not stated. Plastic dummy cap locked onto the baseplate between sessions; dexamethasone (0.3 mg/kg) during surgery and for a week after. Mice habituated to handling and scope attachment for at least a week. Active commutator on the coaxial cable; custom LabVIEW program synchronised Basler behaviour video with imaging. Over 80% of cells registered across days. Fig. 3 littermate/novel-mouse tasks (n = 13 mice) image the same IL-NAcSh population; the paper does not restate the preparation for that cohort. Co-corresponding author Doyun Lee (Institute for Basic Science). Raw data available on request; Zenodo holds the LSVM/CCGP classifier code only. GRIN lens is from Inscopix but the scope is the UCLA Miniscope V4.
