Hello,

I have the DAQ box and Miniscope assembled, but when I plugged everything in to the computer for the first time I was met with the notification "USB Power Surge on USB Port" and "USB Port requires more power". When the DAQ box is plugged in the computer it powers on fine, but once the miniscope coax is connected to the box the power goes out and the notification pops up. Our computer has all the necessary specifications (USB 3.0, Windows 10). Has anyone encountered this issue?

I tried plugging in to the DC Jack on the DAQ to have that source of power but for some reason the cable will not plug in.

Thanks! Cameron

Hi Camwinslow98,

Please check SW2 (the set of 4 switches near the SMA connectors) and make sure each switch is fully pushed in the correct position. From the picture it looks correct but maybe one of the switches isn't pushed all the way across. It this doesn't fix the issue you will need to measure a few things on the CMOS PCB for me. Do you have access to an oscilloscope?

Unfortunately that did not fix the issue, but we do have access to an oscilloscope. What do you need measured?

Upon closer inspection, I found that the soldering of the inner conductor of the coax to the capacitor C21 was covering the whole capacitor, effectively shorting that capacitor. I made a new DAQ setup and made sure to only solder the inner conductor to one side of the capacitor, the side closest to the pad where the shielding is soldered, and now the Data Link LED will illuminate and I am able to see images with the software.

Thanks for your help.

That is great to hear! So I got so delayed get back to you on other things to check but it sounds like you didn't need it in the end.
