Hi,

I was wondering if someone of Miniscope users would have Zemax files ( the optical simulation ) ?

Hi Arthur,

You can find Zemax files for Grintech lenses directly on their site and files for the achromatic lens on Edmund Optics site. Hope this helps.

I have written my own ray tracing package in MATLAB that simulates the miniscope optics. When I have time I will clean up my code and share it over GitHub.

Hi DAharoni,

Zemax is really the best way to simulate the optical system, however, the license is much more expensive and this can be an issue I guess ... having optical simulation on Matlab can be a good equivalent indeed. thanks for the response.

Hi I personally used the free (eDrawing viewer) to open the solidwork files and get mesurements in the scope body, and then used OpticalRayTracer another free one, to simulate lightpath. You won't be able to simulate the grin lens, but you can put an inactive bloc for visual reference, and put an equivalent thin lens on top to collimate the rays. Certainly not as good as Zemax, but very useful, easy to use and free!

I'll share my config very soon
