... til end of Feb (which is kind of a while). Any alternatives from other vendors you'd recommend? Maybe I'll just order the 10mm one. Or what about thorlabs AC050-015-A:

Oh wow. Edmund usually keeps quantities of under 100 lenses so I guess they were likely sold out from people building our system. I would suggest grabbing a few 12.5mm focal length lenses to start. If you plan on imaging very close to the bottom of your GRIN lense (0um to 100um) then consider ordering a few of the 20mm focal length lenses as well.

The Thorlabs lens you linked to should also work just fine but will probably shift the image plane about 1mm higher than the Edmund lenses since the Thorlab lenses are a bit thicker.

OK, so 12.5mm lenses will be fine, say for trying mouse CA1, which is likely to be relatively distant from the end of the grin anyway, right? That's what we're trying first.

The Edmund rep also suggested this: http://www.edmundoptics.com/optics/optical-lenses/achromatic-lenses/mgf2-coated-achromatic-lenses/45207/ ... has Near IR coating, reflects something like 1.5% around gfp excitation/emission.

Would you just go with the 12.5mm?

The majority of our CA1 implants end up with the GRIN lens pretty close the the cell layer. This will definitely vary between experimenter but if you do the surgery similar to what was described at the workshop then I would actually say go with the 20mm focal length lens. Consider buying a few 12.5mm FL lenses and a few 20mm FL lenses to cover your bases. You can always pop one out and replace it if you end up not needing that FL.

I'm sure the IR coated lens would work fine as well.

OK, thank you very much

Does the GRiN lens stock#64-537 (http://www.edmundoptics.com/optics/optical-lenses/aspheric-lenses/gradient-index-grin-rod-lenses/64537/) from Edmund optics fit to your system? Thx, Najet

Looking for other sources with my fingers crossed. I think it is the 12.5 and 15mm lenses to start. Is anyone looking for others. I see some request for 20 mm.
