Trouble w/ Miniscope Control for DAQ v3.x only [RESOLVED]
« on: June 30, 2017, 05:39:27 PM »
I recently made some new DAQ boxes with the new version of the PCB and have been testing them out with a functioning miniscope. When I connect the miniscope to one of the older boxes w/ DAQ PCB v2.x, everything connects fine and I get clear images. However, when I use the newer boxes I don't get any video. All three lights are on and don't flicker. When I move the slider for the excitation LED, the console says that the power was updated, but the intensity on the actual scope looks about the same. At the beginning, it tells me "MINIscope must be connected to chang..." (can't tell what happens after that because the window won't expand) and I also get msCam frame grab errors. Any help would be much appreciated :)

Hi Konell,
The newer version of the DAQ PCB should function identically to the older version except the SMA connectors are in slightly different positions. Are you sure all the switches and jumpers are in the correct position and the EEPROM has been programmed successfully? Is there a chance you shorted the SMA connector on the DAQ PCB that connects to the CMOS sensor PCB at some point in the past? If this connector gets shorted and then the DAQ PCB powered one, it can damage the DAQ PCB and cause the DAQ PCB to fail at transmitting the video data (even when all 3 green LEDs are on and stable).

I realize now I hadn't programmed the EEPROMs successfully. They work perfectly now, thank you!
