Optics / Non Uniform illumination or vignetting in miniscope?
« on: October 17, 2018, 09:38:59 AM »
Hi all, I tried to test my miniscope imaging a green slide to see how even the illumination is and if there is any vignetting in the system. I observe the image to be a lot darker at the edges (image attached), I wonder if this is due to nonuniform illumination or vignetting and what should I do to fix it?
Thank you

Electronics / Using a sony sensor with the miniscope DAQ?
« on: June 30, 2018, 01:48:32 AM »
Hi all,
Does anyone know how hard it is to replace the miniscope sensor with one of sony's larger sensors with smaller pixel size (IMX178 or IMX 174)? I know I will have to design the sensor board but does anyone have any info on how possible that is and the limitations?

thank you

DAQ Software/Firmware / Capturing miniscope data with micromanager
« on: February 06, 2018, 05:55:41 PM »
Hi All,
Has anyone tried to control and automate the data capture of the miniscope (as a sequence of still images) using micromanager? and do you have any info on whether it is compatible or not?

Thanks a lot

It seems like there is a hole in our L13 inductor. It seems it was burnt due to some type of wrong connection. Can you suggest what could have caused that? (ie if I replace the inductor, is it safe to connect the coaxial cable again)?
Also, when testing for shorts in the coaxial cable, the outer and inner conductors are not shorted, however, I ground and the two half circle on the back of the CMOS pcb are connected, is that normal? Thank you so much

Hi All,

My name is Kyrollos. I am a grad student at UCB. I assembled a miniscope about 2 months ago. It was working perfectly fine. However a couple of days ago, the datalink LED started to flicker and now everytime I connect, I get the red screen of doom right away. I can still change the brightness of the LED though. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?
There also seem to be no short in coaxial cable (the pads for it are UV glues and I tested with a voltmeter and there is no short).

Thank you so much
