Title: Is the optogenetics compatible version of miniscope likely to be available?
Post by: Achinput on February 23, 2017, 11:50:40 PM
Hi Daniel,
I just wondering if you guys have plans to release the optogenetics compatible version of miniscope in the future? And if so, would it be possible that we can upgrade the current version of scope to that? It might need some changes in the plastic frames as well, so I guess it might need to be built from scratch...

Thanks.

Hi Achinput,
Yes we are planning on openly sharing the optogenetics version of the Miniscope once we have fully tested it out. You will likely be able to use the same CMOS PCB and DAQ PCB you have now as well as some of the optical elements. The plastic body will be different so you will need to get new ones made.

Thanks, Daniel! Also would you give us a little bit hint of the timeline?

Best,
Shaohua

You're welcome Shaohua. As of now we do not have a timeline for you other than to say that we expect to share the optogenetics scope design sometime this year.
